Funky D-I-Y paper toys

Think your workspace looks too drab or need a little something to brighten the kids' shelves? Portland/Denver/Brooklyn design firm Fwis has produced free Readymech toy designs that you can download and print with any printer, then fold and tape to create your own little creature. With 22 designs in 2 series, you can take your pick from the cute to the offbeat to the stylized.
The toys are designed for 8.5" x 11" paper and instructions are fairly straightforward, sometimes as casual as "throw a couple of pieces of double-sided tape here to stick the arms together." According to the website, each design takes 10-15 minutes to assemble, which seems like a fun project to do with the kids or a quick way to take a break at work. Besides, if you make a mistake the first time, you can just print another copy out to try again.
