UV Natural: sunscreen without chemicals
As the holidays approach and with it the possibility of warm vacations in sunny climes, be sure to keep yourself protected with a sunscreen that will not only block UV, but also ensure that you're not slathering on a vat of synthetic compounds. See, most sunscreens these days use a combination of chemical sunscreens (Benzophenone-3, Homosalate, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, 4 Methyl-benzylidene camphor (4-MBC), Ocryl-dimethyl-PABA) and physical suncreens (Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide) to block the sun's rays. Both work to minimize sun damage, but chemical sunscreens stop sun damage by absorbing UV light instead of deflecting them, and often cause skin irritation. As an alternative UV Natural, is a 100% natural and biodegradable sunscreen that is free of chemicals. At nearly $30 USD for seven ounces it's a little more expensive than your typical drugstore sunscreen, but with full spectrum UV coverage, an emphasis on organic ingredients, and increasing concern over chemical toxicity the extra price tag might be worth it. After all, it's your body, and what you put on it is as important as what you put in it.
