Somewhere in the arctic circle: Rip Curl heated wetsuit update

ripcurlheatedwetsuit.jpg

As winter temperatures drop most people are thinking of the allure of sunny skies and tropical weather, but for the hardcore surfer nothing says fun like pulling into an icy barrel. We previously blogged about Rip Curl's new H-Bomb power heated wetsuit, but now here's an update to titillate you further: On the Rip Curl website you can check out a video of surfers Adam Wickwire and Elise Garrigue roughing it out alongside snow-covered ground and in frigid water, getting a taste of arctic perfection. The H-Bomb uses coated fibers located on the upper back of the suit and two lithium-ion batteries to keep the core of the wearer warm. Neoprene padding ensures that the objects do not cause discomfort, and the word, according to the video, is that it "feels like summer." The H-Bomb is expected on the market mid-2007.
