Provençal wooden diffusers
Reed diffusers are a safe, decorative way to scent your home, but if you're after something smaller and more portable, or want to use your favourite essential or fragrance oils, Florame's provençal wooden diffusers give you another option. This is a stick topped with a ball that you insert into your essential oil bottle, through the hole at the centre of the orifice reducer. The oil rises by capillary action into the ball which slowly diffuses the scent. You can purchase a set of three, or a diffuser with a bottle of Florame essential oil and a wooden holder to put it in.
As a faithful user of essential oils (I normally use an electric oil burner), I was eager to try this, and it does work remarkably well. The sales assistant had warned me that the stick may be too big to go through some orifice reducers, but I easily solved this problem by trimming the narrow base of the tube on the underside of the reducer. I was also warned not to push the stick all the way into the bottle (as shown in the picture above), but just to ensure the tip is submerged. To change scents, I cap the bottle and seal the stick in a labelled ziploc bag for the next time - obviously, sticks should not be reused for different oils.
Available at Florame's UK site or Anne au Soleil.
