Bio Bag: an eco-friendly way to dispose of waste

Think of all the waste we generate and how much of it ends up in land fills. Imagine if even a fraction of that could be disposed of responsibly. Well it might be worth taking a look at BioBags. Made of Mater-Bi, a material produced by Italian research company Novamont, and the first completely biodegradable and compostable bio-polymer ever invented, BioBags have a commercial and retail line with a variety of uses.
For example, do you compost? Well if you do, BioBag makes a food waste bag that is ideal for that purpose, as well as a ventilated countertop container which cuts down on odor and mess:

Or, if you're not a composter, but just want to try to use environmentally friendly trash bags you could try BioBag's tall kitchen bags for the home and the BioBag 33 Gallon Lawn & Leaf Bag for the yard:

And for your dog or cat, BioBag their bio-waste:

In addition to the products pictured above, BioBag also makes cling film, grocery bags, and a portable toilet system utilizing their Mater-Bi material technology. Make all of your disposable needs biodegradable. Hooray.

I think these are the same bags being used by Mountain Equipment Co-op (www.mec.ca) located here in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

I tried these out for "real trash" for a while, and be warned, they broke on me far too regularly to be worthwhile in a functional sense. but for burying compost - sure! why not?
