Art Basel Miami Beach opens this weekend, as many New York based gallery owners pack their bags and canvases and head South. This art show is the sister event to the venerable Art Basel, Switzerland, and quickly put Miami on the art world map. Scheduling it in December certainly didn't hurt attendence. If you are able to go or are in the area, definitely check out the scheduled events in homage to the legendary video artist Num Jun Pak who died last year. (The new works should be good too.)

The events run from Thursday December 7th to Sunday December 10th.
