Stylishly silly galoshes

By reading the new Gastro Chic (by way of Eater) I came across some fancy gumboots last night. They've fallen out of style lately, and I would like to bring their bright colored silliness back with a vengeance. There just aren't enough options for footwear that really make people smile on a rainy day, and over the top crazy galoshes are like billboards that say "Look at me, I'm festive and fun and don't take myself seriously unless absolutely necessary!"
Diane's linked rainboot shop does admittedly keep some wonderfully hideous boots on their pages, but look past those to find rock star quality Wellingtons for pirates, cowboys, bikers, hippies, tattoo artists, and soldiers. The store also offers more traditional styles and there's even a line with animal faces on the toes.
Perhaps the best part of the DLL website is the offering of "Mommy & Me" sets aimed at shodding both mother and daughter in waterproof flamboyant fun. Six choices include cowgirls, spotted cows, kittens, Dalmatians, frogs, and ladybugs. Prices for the sets range from $55 to $70 so they're both adorable and affordable.
