Moving Men
My dear friend, Sharlene, has a breathtaking home that has had designer showhouse organizations and magazines knocking at her door. Needless to say, the place didn’t get to be what it is overnight. There has been lots of blood, sweat, and tears… Mine! Though I certainly can’t take credit for most of it, I did contribute in some small way with countless nights of moving furniture and artwork around to test every possible configuration until it was ‘just right!’
I recently came across the Moving Men furniture sliders online and remembered using them at Shar’s house to reposition many a sofa and I have to say they were truly amazing. Perfect for legs that would otherwise scratch your floor if dragged across it, these little discs are foam lined to protect your furniture. In addition, they have a smooth plastic shell that won’t mar your floors and lets you easily slide heavy objects over floors, making ‘bulk’ moving a breeze. Works great with carpeting, as well as wood and other hard flooring. Very useful if you are trying to work alone, too!
I’m not usually big on touting items that have the ‘As Seen On TV’ endorsement on the package (except, of course, if it’s for kitsch value), but these really do work great. The set included four regular and four mini sliders.

There are very few purchases that I've been excited enough about to call one of the 'best purchases ever,' but these fit the mold.
I picked a set up at a garage sale a couple of years ago for $1.00. Best buck I ever spent.
They actually make a special one for wood floors with a cloth bottom instead of the hard plastic.
