For Paparazzi Everywhere

paparazzi.jpg

This looks suspiciously like something your Beverly Hills paparazzi would carry, so I'm not even sure we should be publicizing it. The site claims you can "capture shots from over fences and above barricades." What the heck are you doing shooting over them in the first place?

Especially designed for digital SLR cameras, the Slik S pole digital is very compact and can be stuck in your camera bag where the celebs' security won't see it. It's basically a thick tube with thin extension tubes and a screw to attach it to the camera. The Slik S pole stands 30cm and can reach 60cm when extended.

The Slik S pole digital stand is available for approximately Yen 6825 ($58).

For that amount of money you could get a proper monopod and a wire release instead, which would not only be more useful but also a better bang for your buck. $58 is a bit high for something that's just a glorified stick with a screw at the end, I would think twice about putting something as expensive as an SLR or DSLR at the end of something that looks so flimsy.

A regular monopod is good for everything between needing some stabilization to using in cramped compartments where a regular tripod wouldn't fit to shooting over crowds and in otherwise inaccessible places. A good investment for the avid photographer no doubt.
