Leave dry eyes all wet

tranquileyes.jpg

Allergies, lack of sleep, contact lens wear, extended computer use -- all things that can lead to dry, irritated eyes.

Of course there are plenty of drops on the market that will chemically remove the redness and dryness, but these simply mask symptoms. Tranquileyes is a soft, flexible goggle that provides all-natural, restorative care to your peepers. They work with plain water to form a moist, humid environment around the eye that prevents the evaporation of natural tears, while also moisturizing the delicate skin around the eyes. Warm water for dry eyes; cold water to reduce puffiness. Either way, feel like youre at the spa.

Available in a variety of tranquil colors, and with more accessories than you can shake a stick at, these may be just what the doctor ordered.

BenQ-Siemens introduces hello kitty mobile phone

benq_hello_kitty.jpg

Camilla already posted about another Hello Kitty Mobile Phone. Here's a new one from BenQ-Siemens. This phone is rather basic. It doesn't come with a camera or Bluetooth, which doesn't bother me because often many of the features they cram into mobile phones never get used. They've made a simple phone that is super cute.

This phone will be available later this year, but they have not priced it yet.

Keep your cat well fed while you're on the road

catfeeder.jpg

I basically love all things DIY. In my book it doesn't have to look pretty, it just needs to work and be ingenious.

Check out this DIY cat feeder, where Lee Holmes made an automatic cat feeder by controlling a CD-ROM tray on a PC running Ubuntu Linux, which is hooked into his home wireless network. Being attached to the network allows him to run a script on his PDA phone to activate the feeder on demand. It's great how he didn't alter the PC. Check out the youtube video from his site.

Smallest hairdryer in the world

tiny%20hairdryer.jpg

Probably the world's smallest hairdrier, at a mere 11cm x 5.5cm when folded.

450W, two speed, dual voltage complete with handy cotton draw string bag, it's perfect for travelers but at this size, you could conceivably carry it around in your purse for hair emergencies.

Sadly, only available in the UK, but we'll let you know when your can order it here.

Nokia Eye On Fashion: where do you look?

nokiaeyeonfashion.jpg

Phone company Nokia is sponsoring a contest in India with a focus on fashion. Nokia Eye On Fashion challenges participants to send in up to three photos snapped with a Nokia picturephone, expressing their unique taste on style. The contest runs from August 29th to September 22nd. Winners can nab a free premium yet-to-be-released Nokia handset, clothing from designer Ashish Soni, or Nokia fashion phones.

While the design and wording of the website would lead you to believe that only supermodels and hipsters can participate in the contest, the actual photos sent in by participants are surprisingly real and charmingly mundane. Perhaps we do need a redefinition of what "fashion" means after all, and a re-evaluation of "style." If those photos are anything to go by there are untold treasures to be found in the everyday.

Looking back and forward on Pong

pong2.jpg

While there have been many museum exhibitions on video games, when one game gets its own exhibition, it is something special. The Computer Game Museum in Berlin has a show dedicated to the ground breaking game, Pong. They've included all the iterations and interpretations of the game, from the giant sized to the miniature, and everything in between. Most notable is this brilliant version of Pong, which is based on sound.

Lie Detector Glasses

lie%20detector%20glasses%20%282%29.bmp

Where were these when I was single and dating?

Suppossedly, the new lie detection technology promises remarkable benefits in determining whether people are telling you the truth. (Do they work in a bar, I want to know?)

A US company called Ventertainment based in New York, is repackaging the Israeli-developed technology for personal and corporate use. AT CES they showed a plain pair of sunglasses which used green, yellow and red color codes to indicate a "true," "maybe" or "false" response. I guess this beats pulling the petals off a daisy and asking "Does he love me?"

You can already buy the technology as a downloadable PC program which can analyse live and telephone conversations @ Ventertainment.

Bound to revolutionize dating everywhere.
