Bring back the old school
Do you remember the Swingline Stapler? I do, especially, when I'm using some cheap plastic stapler that barely punctures ten sheets of paper. The all-metal jam resistant Swingline can handle a hefty 20 sheets of 20 lb paper, takes S.F. 4 Premium or standard staples, and measures 7" x 2.5".
If you are still shopping for supplies for school, Thinkgeek sells the Classic Swingline for $21.99.
While we're on the subject, I also miss pencil sharpeners screwed onto table tops, purplish ink printed on ditto sheets, and demin-blue cloth 3 rind binders, but I digress.

It's worth noting that the red Swingline was resurrected by the movie Office Space. Swingline had discontinued red long ago and resumed making it after the film came out.
