Joby gorillapod tripod

Readers in the UK will find no end of amusement from the name of the manufacturers of this product. Camera accessory company, JOBY (teehee!), have designed a great camera tripod for on the move. I am terrible at taking photos; I must have the shakiest hands on the planet. Every photo is a blur, and it's even worse when I try to take a photo of me and my partner with my arm extended pointing the camera toward us. I seem to like only taking pictures of mainly myself, or should I say, my forehead. The gorillapod solves all these problems by having unique bendable legs that can be wrapped around any object, making a tripod out of almost anything.
The gorillapod has been around for a few months now, but I thought I should bring it up as JOBY (I need to grow up!) have recently released the gorillapodSLR, which as the name suggests is a version for SLR cameras. This version allows the attachment of compact video cameras too.
The standard gorillapod can be bought from JOBY directly for $24.95, or (this is a great idea) if you chose not to have it in plastic packaging, $21.95. The gorillapodSLR follows a similar pricing strategy of $54.95 or $49.95 for the environment friendly version.
UPDATE: The nice people at JOBY are giving Popgadget readers a special discount! Simply enter the code 'Popgadget' for $3 off the standard gorillapod, or 'PopgadgetSLR' for $5 off the gorillapodSLR when buying from JOBY direct.

As a proud owner of such a Gorillapod I have created a group on Flickr called "Gorillapod Love" and invited some people who I found by looking for the word in Flickr.
The group is located at (big surprise):
http://www.flickr.com/groups/gorillapod/
It's free to join for everybody and post pictures from situations where you have used the little mini tripod to take a picture or from situations where the monkey pod just feels at home.
