Reef Fanning sandal with bottle opener

reefsandal.jpg

Well this one is exclusively for the men – a pair of sandals that are quite neat to have on a camping trip or at the beach. Not that they look extraordinary, but because it's a cool idea to have a bottle opener built into the outer sole of each sandal – especially when you are dehydrated and realize that you forgot to carry a bottle opener along. The sandals have been created as a tribute to pro-surfer Mick Fanning and are available for $39.95 to $43.95 at DogFunk.com.

Rob:

Who uses bottles with caps? Is not this not the world of the screwtop? :)

Keith Cody:

These have been available for about 2 years now.

Cody:

My last comment was weak. this one is better.

If you live on the coast, you'll know that these sandals have been available for two seasons now. They were the most stolen item of last summer, but it seems that this year everyone has a pair or two now.

RSquared:

My girlfriend got me a pair of these for my birthday...they're comfortable and it's amusing to watch peoples' faces as I whip off a sandal to offer them a beer.

I've found them surprisingly useful as something to slip on after any kind of sporting event wearing cleats. Soccer hooligans, especially, drink quite hard after matches.

Rich Banner:

Maybe it’s just me but that is disgusting. To open a bottle with the bottom of your shoe and then drink from that bottle. Now instead of licking salt from the back on your hand you just as well lick the bottom of the sandal. Cheers.

Cody:

(As I sit here in my Mick Fanning sandals). Yeah, it is kinda gross, but what do you want? A closed beer or an opened beer. Usually it's the opened beer and opened wins out over gross. You learn to live with it.

moe:

I have pair of these, there pretty damn comfortable, but the plastic at the sides of the sandles is starting to peel off. they're really not the most durable sandle I've ever worn.

Charlie Lesoine:

Who cares? This product is a lame combination. Wow you can open bottles with your shoe!! way to go agent 86 or inspector gadget...Kinda useful but kinda who gives a fuck also.
