Five Fingers barefoot shoes
Unless you're doing some serious sailing or heading to a water park, I’m not really sure how much use you'd get out of these shoes. I mean, those who enjoy being barefoot probably wouldn’t need these. And those who don’t like being barefoot may feel they need something a bit more “shoe” on their feet.
Nonetheless, they do look pretty cool. By utilizing a new patent pending material called Vibram, the sole is designed to follow the contour of your feet and toes, providing a gecko-like sure grip on slippery surfaces. The individual toe slots design boasts it will enhance dexterity, control, and stability to deliver a more natural walking motion.
Priced at $70 USD, they come in 4 colors. Women’s sized from 36 to 42. Men’s sized from 41 to 46. Available at Vibram Five Fingers

You don't live by the sea? These are for those who want to walk in seawater near the beach or cliffs without having the fear the next urchin or coral makes a nice cut in your feet. Walking with shoes in the sea isn't the hit ...

Vibram is not a new material, it is an Italian company that manufacture soles since the '30s:
I am from the French Alps, and a pair of mountain shoes (whatever brand) with a Vibram sole is actually the sole of choice for my mountain shoes

Hey, somehow i don't like the idea. If I wanna go barefoot (eg on the beach) I go barefoot.
I don't know, they look somehow strange. But for children they might be ok.

Theses shoes sold out at my local REI store, had to go on-line to buy mine. When I get them, I'll write back with a review. Split toe shoes are not for everyone! Read a review from a guy who ran 6.1 miles in them and loves them!
