SMS Patient Messenger Service from TMC
It is estimated that around 15 million people annually miss medical appointments in the UK. Apparently, this costs the UK government millions of pounds of revenue loss. TMC, a leading provider of global corporate communications, has come up with a novel idea which they claim will reduce this percentage by about 30% - the Messaging Center. This is an SMS service that is on a free trial offer to hospitals, companies, government healthcare departments and any other company.
The idea is that the service will remind registered users of their medical appointments, medication etc., using a text message. That certainly seems to be a no-brainer, but what really impresses me is that someone thought of this service in the first place - confirms my belief that all great ideas come from simple solutions to day-to-day issues.

I've used SMS reminder systems such as this and they really do work!
At my dental practice I saw a dramatic fall in lateness and non attendance. Best of all clients cant get enough of them!
