Online color shopping with Etsy

There are so many times when I have wanted to buy items of a specific color. But a greater part of such shopping expeditions end up with me buying something that I never wanted in the first place – because I don't find the item of specific color and I am forced to buy a substitute.

Welcome Etsy, a website where you can shop for or sell all types of handmades. What’s so new about that? Well the spotlight here is on the very innovative ways in which you can search for your needs - by color, by geolocation and even by the chronological order of daily listings on the site!

What I like most, however, is the shopping by color experience from Etsy ColorSpace – when you choose a color on ColorSpace, all the thumbnail images of items available on Etsy are scanned for their color, and items with the nearest matching color are displayed for you to choose from. That’s about all it takes to find that blue shawl which you have always wanted for your mom, or the green beaded bracelet for yourself.

However, they do not offer a shopping cart as yet and items must be bought individually – that could be irksome if you are planning to buy a number of items. But that inconvenience can be forgiven since the site is still in its beta.

Overall, an online shopping experience to remember - thanks to the online shopping revolution that has always kept in touch with the ever-growing needs of consumers.
