MacWorld has published its June 2006 issue of Hotter Stuff . Amongst the many, many fun things in there is the LUMi Flasher for the Apple iPod.

It took me a little bit to realize the real use of the item, which is to be attached to almost any model of mini, photo, video, and Nano iPods. It provides up to six flash modes with just a single button.

Driven by 5 hi output LEDs, visible from 2 directions, and weighing only 1 oz, this little attachment is perfect IF I actually go jogging or walking in the dark. But upon further inspection on the demonstration site, I quickly realize there’s another even more useful purpose for this gadget. It can double as my very own personal disco lights on those nights when I’m home alone but want to pretend to be a go-go dancer! My own private party!
