Afterglow recycled lighting for neoindustrial looks

Andy Schulman’s Afterglow Lighting

In the art from trash department is where I would have to classify Andy Schulman. I came across his Afterglow lighting project this morning, and I'm already trying to decide where to put one of his pieces in my home. These pieces carry strong rustic lines with just enough avant-garde flair to really make them pop in a modern space.

Andy won an Excellence in Lighting award at the 2005 Philadelphia Furniture and Furnishings show, but he doesn't have any plans to exhibit this year. I spoke with him today and he's booked solid for new pieces with several more projects on the horizon. If you'd like him to build lighting for you, then I recommend scheduling him before the large corporate buyers schedule the rest of his year.

I saw it this morning on Boing Boing, but these pieces are available only from the artist.
