Mesu portion control bowls
I no longer make judgments about other people's dieting techniques -- to each his/her own, I say. You never know what will work. These portion control bowls, for instance, might make sense for some, maybe even for me. I have no idea what a one-cup portion of anything looks like, since I use big Jethro bowls (disguised as delicate Japanese noodle bowls) for cereal, ice cream, chili and just about everything else that can be eaten with a spoon. The one person, one bowl method of serving food may be simple, but probably isn't advisable.
These Mesu portion control bowls from Studio Panepinto are really cute; I wouldn't have known they were for dieters if I'd seen them in a store. The six porcelain, nesting bowls go from 2-cup size to half-cup size. For me, they'd take some getting used to -- I might be in for a rude awakening -- because the bowls I now use must hold at least 4 or 5 cups each.
Safe for the oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer, Mesu bowls are priced at $49.95 for the set.
Appreciate the tip, Rande.

If those weren't $50, I would be all over them. I could really use something like that to encourage me to not reach for that extra handful of snacks when I look in my bowl and see there's practically nothing in it.

Love the Pac-Man look alike bowl. The set would be worth $50 just for it.

I love that you said "Jethro Bowl." I picked it up as kid from my Dad who watched Beverly Hillbillies all the time and my fiance always looks at me like I'm crazy.
Cheers!
