Analog chic for your cell phone
I'm all for using my cell phone's Bluetooth headset at any given turn, so I often wonder why I continue to keep a landline at home. Then it hit me one day... comfort. Sure the Bluetooth headset is lightweight and clear, but somehow nothing beats having that good old-fashioned U-shaped handset cradled on your shoulder. Maybe it's the size, the exact curvature, the weight of it... it's just right, though.
The P-Phone is the answer to my prayers. It provides a classic sized and shaped receiver that plugs into standard 2.5mm cell phone headset jacks. It lets people like me have a few, comfortable retro moments while still enjoying the features of the digital age. Offered by Hulger, a British company, the P-Phone is available alongside the Pip-Phone and the Penelope-Phone. The Pip is similar to the P-Phone, only a bit more streamlined and 70s looking. The Penelope is a throwback to the 30s, featuring a more curvaceous design. The Pip and Penelope models are also offered in a Bluetooth version that features the traditional handset without the wire.
Now, if only I can remember where I last set down my cell phone...

Actually, I've tried both the Hulger and the Fred Flare versions and found them both pretty uncomfortable and of dubious sound quality. Maybe they work better with non-Sidekick phones, but I was rather disappointed. Cute idea, but I think the analog handset is more for kitschy nostalgia value than function.
