USB Skin Sensor

skin sensor.jpg

I'm afraid of those makeup mirrors that magnify my face so that I can see all my pores and freckles, and examine the exact contours of the dark circles under my eyes. Maybe I just don't appreciate the finer points of makeup art, but I'd rather see a blurry, rosy image of myself pre-makeup even if I compromise certain cosmetic details in the end.

This USB Skin Sensor takes clinical fascination with facial flaws to a whole new level. It's a USB-powered microscope which magnifies your skin up to 250 times. Yikes! The accompanying software allows you to see the horror on your computer monitor and to share the ghastly details with your friends. It'll probably show you wrinkles yet unborn so you can prepare in advance. And for anyone undergoing treatment for hair loss, it'll help you see if roots are coming up.

This evil device doesn't appear to be available in the U.S., but online Japanese store Rare Mono Shop carries it.
