Roadside Safety Bag for Gals
Cookiepots sells a different version of the Roadside Safety Bag for gals and guys, so I wanted to see what the differences were in the 2 kits. Both include a "Call Police" sign for the window, a flashlight (aqua blue for girls, black for guys), a rain poncho, 2 microfiber towels (including pink for girls), jumper cables, an emergency aluminum blanket and a 30 piece first aid kit.
So what are the differences? The bag for all the goodies in the girl's version is slightly different and looks more like a bag with a closing flap. But, the big difference is that while girls get pink gloves, the boys get 3 different kinds of cleaning wipes. I guess the gloves are to protect your hands from getting dirty and greasy, but hey, we need wipes too - unless there is an assumption that women are more likely to carry around wipes in their handbag than men. The guys also get the 12 hour safety light stick while we do not. Instead, we get chocolate. That's right! Chick chocolate to calm those anxiety inducing, hormonal moments while you wait in the car to get rescued.

I'm thikning that the girls get the gloves simply for the diva effect when flagging down someone to help.
The guys, on the other hand, get the 12 hour safety light stick because they have a snowball's chance in hell that someone will stop to help. :)

Chocolate? How patronizing. BTW, anyone buying these types of kits needs to check out the jumper cables - my dad got badly burned on a cheap set that came in a kit (and yes, he was using them properly). Better to spend extra for quality jumper cables.

Chocolate: I love me some chocolate, but keeping it in the car? Why would I want a stupid gooey mess all over everying in the kit.

The "Call Police" sign needs an addendum at the bottom: "Raise skirt slightly to display ankle. Hold pose until help arrives."
