MonsterPod

What's that blob on your digital camera? That funny looking suction cup thingy is actually a very portable tripod called the MonsterPod that will screw into your digital camera and stick to just about any surface - from wood to metal to plaster. So how does it work? It has a viscoelastic morphing polymer super grip base (got all that?) that is moldable to the surface and peels off easily. It's lightweight and compact and you can just throw it in your bag or pocket when you're done. Think about how useful this is and all those times you balanced your camera on makeshift tripods just to get a steadier shot.
The MonsterPod isn't available yet but according to the website it should be out in a few weeks at $29.95.

Wouldn't the sticky base get stuff stuck to it?
Like bark, if you indeed attached it to a tree, or more likely it would just get all linty.
Cause I had morphing polymer stuff in the form of silly putty and it always got linty.

I think it's a good idea. I would get one and try it out. Seems very practical and not that messy. I have seen a few videos and it doesn't look bad at all.

Seems useful. You know, when there are those difficult angles or no flat surfaces around. Also, I have been 'lost' in many shots, as I had to take them, so this should be a great solution.
