AeroGarden

I haven’t yet decided whether the AeroGarden falls under those products that are just plain scary or simply brilliant.
The AeroGarden allows anyone to have a completely self-sufficient garden on their kitchen countertops. The NASA-technology based garden is self-watering and self-feeding and apparently grows herbs, lettuce, tomatoes and does it faster and healthier than plants grown in soil.
While the idea of self-sufficient plants is quite appealing to someone like me who can kill a plant just by looking at it, there is nonetheless something quite peculiar about the AeroGarden. It just looks so unnatural. Though if you trust NASA-proven, high-yield aeroponic technology and built-in grow lights to make your veggies taste like they are supposed to, you can get the AeroGarden ($150) and the seed kit ($20) here.

That is awesome! I was just at disney and saw their aeroponic setup which was great. This looks like the easiest and well thought out setup I've seen. Most tend to look home made or you have to buy the seeds, mix and lights separately. I ultimately want to grow different heirloom tomatoes in a bigger setup but this looks to be perfect for smaller stuff like basil and lettuce.

Wow..this looks like something that even I couldn't mess up! I wonder what the yield is like?

Believe it or not, this thing actually works! I purchase 2 of them from The AeroGarden Store (www.hydroponic-home-garden.com) because they offered free shipping...and within about 4 weeks I was eating the lettuce and my gourmet herbs were well on their way. In answer to the post above, the salad kit is supposed to produce around 60 dinner salads, and the herb kits will produce way more herbs than the normal person would use. I have also tried to grow my own seeds in the AeroGarden, and experienced success and failure...so if you want to expiriment, let me know what works and what doesn't. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone!
