Soap Genie

autosoapdispenser.jpg

What do you think it would be like to have this Soap Genie automatic soap dispenser in your home? Would it make you feel like you were washing your hands at the airport? While I can't help but doubt that this device has found its way into many homes, I would love to hear from any proud owners should they happen to be out there. With an infrared sensor and "no-drip innovation" the Genie claims to eliminate waste and mess. I can't wait until they come out with the matching faucet and paper towel dispenser.

Sean:

I have a touchless dispenser (not a genie though) and although I like it somewhat, I find it a little annoying to wait the second or two before the thing actually dispenses the soap. Mine *does* has a problem with drips, which the genie claims to have resolved. Also, when the batteries are running out, the sensor goes out of whack and wont stop dispensing, leaving you with a handful of soap, literally.

MaidMirawyn:

I can't see putting it in my kitchen or bathroom, but it could be good in a small office. I also hope to get a studio set up in the basement eventually, complete with (gasp) running water. Now THAT would be a great place for one: no getting the dispenser icky with ink/paint/liquid clay/glue.
