iCool Smelly MP3 Player

solid_sniff.jpg

Solid Alliance introduces the iCool, an MP3 player that will play your music files, all the while exuding a pleasant scent of either chocolate, rose, strawberry, lemon, cherry or blueberry. Not sure who the iCool is marketed towards, but judging by the food scents and the Smuckers-like labels for graphics, maybe it's for kids (the site's in Japanese, maybe one of our Japanese literate readers can interpret?)

But putting aside the bad associations of car air fresheners that I'm thinking these smell like, maybe Solid Alliance is on to something. Maybe one day your MP3 player will smell like your favorite perfume or aromatherapy scent. And if you think this is somewhat farfetched, I used to work in the fragrance & cosmetic industry. This is exactly the type of marketing partnerships we used to think up.

lisa:

Each mp3 player comes with two removable fragrant cases, so you can change it depending on your mood, and the screen has a 3d hologram. It comes in 3 sets of scents:
chocolate/rose
strawberry/lemon
cherry/blueberry
256MP internal memory, uses SD/MMC memory card (not included).. blah blah blah.. Roughly $60.
