Venta: not your average humidifier.

venta

Now that we're in the dead of winter and suffering the effects of the cold, dry air, moisture becomes an area of key concern. Keeping a proper moisture balance helps one stay healthy and sane (I'm going crazy itching from all the dry skin)! The standard fare of humidifers will ensure that your air is moist, but Venta's line of Air Washers go a step further to actually wash the air in your room. By basically drawing air into its water-filled chamber and propelling it back out, the Venta Air Washer bathes the room air with clean water. The process effectively traps airborne particles of dust, pollen, and other contaminates while propelling moisture-laden air back into the room. It's like getting an air purifier and a humidifier in one unit. The unique process also eliminates all of the white dust issues common in typical humidifers. Available in a variety of sizes, these units are quiet and extremely well engineered (though the prices are reflective of it). Get a Venta and breathe easy this season... by the way, can you pass the lotion.

fluff:

First I thought this humidifier was a good idea, too; But beware! The "air cleaning" capacity is almost nill. Dust will sit on the vent and start to stink. You have to clean it thoroughly (taking it apart) every few days to prevent it from smelling like garbage. It doesn't really humidify the air. You have to buy additional fluids to get it working and to clean it. And last bud not least it's awfully loud; especially when the cheap cogwheels jump out of sync.

So just one piece of advice: stay away from this crap!
