Knitta, please
A knit graf team in Houston is drawing as much attention to interknitwear as Leslie Hall brought to Gem Sweaters back in '03. The Lone Star state's Knitta, please crew was profiled by Houston Press in mid-December. Their aerosol-free style of graffitti is "a soft, warm tag in a part of town dominated by aerosol arrogance," according to Houston Press reporter Keith Plocek. The group hails from the Montrose area and has fortified the city with streetlamp warmers, car antenna cozies and tree huggers. Knitta, please has future designs on cozies for car bumpers, knitcaps for fire hydrants, and carpets for sidewalks. Each piece is tagged with a calling card and a "Whaddup my knitta?" sign-off.

Oh wow! I read about this in the Press last week. Still haven't come across anything knitted, though. =P

I saw a coupla scarf-adorned lamp posts on the Dunlavy bridge over 59 and was wondering "what on earth?". I never saw the Press article 'cos I've been outta town. The lamp posts were v. cool.
