Submersible backpack: dunk it and stay dry

So what do you do when you need to pack a bag, and keep it water tight? Well you could check out a submersible backpack. The Westwater Waterproof Backpack 4900 by Watershed is a category 5 fully submersible backpack. Which means you can sink this bag to at least more than twelve feet before you'd worry about the contents getting wet - though in this case the Watershed claims the Westwater bag is good for depths up to three-hundred feet. Their patented ZipDry closure fuses all seams with overlapping radio frequency welds, turning multiple fabric pieces into one single piece of material. The backpack itself is made of Kryptothane fabric with five times the abrasion resistance of PVC fabric. The end result is a truly durable, in fact near-indestructible knapsack that can hold up to whatever adventures you may want to undertake. It doesn't hurt either that the Westwater has a simple clean look that can match to nearly any style.

Fender and Intel’s "surf guitar"

Fender and Intel have partnered to create a concept of an internet-enabled super guitar. The new revisited Fender Telecaster will incorporate Intel Centrino mobile technology to allow Internet access on the go. The TELECASTER guitar contains a Hewlett Packard TC1100 tablet laptop with 1.25ghz RAM and an Echo Indigo I/O soundcard.
With the new Fender every musician will be able to download music directly on their “super-guitar,” record new ideas on it and email them directly to whomever they want. It is supposed to even incorporate a webcam, so you can stream yourself rocking onstage to the whole Internet world.

Scraminal Pet Behavior Controller

I don't know about any other pet owners out there but I find myself having to decorate my house according to what the cat will and won't destroy. This generally means no house plants, no fresh cut flowers (the worst offense in my mnd), no area rugs and no piles of clutter, ever. Luckily my cat has learned to leave the couches alone for some reason unknown to me, but I'll take it. I'm curious about the Scraminal Pet Behavior Controller because I hate having to resort to spraying the cat with a water gun or sticking ugly double sided tape on furniture. The Scraminal can create an invisible 3 feet wide barrier by emitting a series of short high-pitched beeps to train your pets to stay away from as far as 15 feet away. A heat and motion sensor will set the Scraminal off and reset itself for the next intrusion. It's true, sometimes pets adapt to these tricks that we put out (like my cat who ended up actually enjoying that squirt from the water gun), but from what I hear, the Scraminal is worth a try and it beats putting ugly tape, tin foil or gates all around.

Rechargeable Flickering Votive Candles

So there have been posts here on Popgadget before pointing to LED candles. We blogged a real wax version, and a set of tea lights. Small and durable, LEDs do have advantages. They last forever, and when charged these Flickering Votive Candles like many others last for 10-12 hours. It makes you want to ask yourself who'll bother to use candles that require a flame? ( Well, personally I like real candles over LED ones!)
