Popgadget Gift Guide 2005: $400 to $1,000

XdaAtom_info_pic.jpg
This forthcoming PDA-phone, the 02 Xda Atom, is supposedly the smallest multimedia PDA-phone in the world. Running on Windows Mobile 5.0, features include a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash, 262K-colour QVGA display, onboard Wi-Fi and FM tuner. While I'm not generally a fan of mini PDA-phones due to the tiny screen sizes, smaller is undeniably sexier. While yet to be released anywhere in the world, it can be pre-ordered from various sites, such as eXpansys. (Saresha)

portable whirlpool.jpg
Set up a portable, inflatable whirlpool in minutes without the costly setup of a permanent hot tub installation. The control panel allows you to adjust the water temperature and it's spacious enough to accommodate 4 adults. $899.95 at Hammacher Schlemmer. (Jenna)

e5c_large.jpg
Shure E5c Sound Isolating Earphones, for $499, deliver professional-level audio quality. Comes with a kit of various sleeves for a personalized fit, and memory-fit earphone cables (to retain their shape around the ears), and a carrying case. (Brian)

The Sharp Aquos LCD, model LC-15PX1U, has a beautiful bright screen, plus a built-in DVR with a hard drive for recording shows and time-shifting live tv. $799 at Etronics. (Mia)

wave oven.jpg
I don't spend enough time in the kitchen to need a microwave integrated with a DVD player and TFT screen in the door but I know a couple people who love to nuke their five-course dinners. Designed by Marcel Wanders, costs $700. (Sheigh)

cottoncandy.bmp
This is no toy. The Twister 5 Cotton Candy machine can produce 200 servings of fluffy sugar an hour. $634 at a1popcornmachines.com (Mia)

Sanyoxacti.bmp
Sanyo's Xacti C6 takes 6 Megapixel still photos, even when you're still in video mode (about one hour on a 1 GB SD card). Plus it only weights a third of a pound and comes in black, silver, or ruby. Imported by Dynamism for $599. (Mia)

ijoyzipconnect.jpg
The iJoy Zip Connect Massage Chair with built-in speakers and subwoofer may seem like a contradiction to those of us who associate relaxation with quiet, but I know a few people for whom soul-blasting audio experience combined with rhythmic back massage would be nirvana . Down from $999.95 to special price of $699.95 at Sharper Image. (Hoyun)
