Introducing the world's first steam washer
LG Electronics just unveiled their new innovative LG SteamWasher with remote monitoring capabilities at a preview event in NY. The steam generator enables energy efficiency and water conservation because clothes can be cleaned without water or detergent. Because steam is used to eliminate odors and wrinkles, LG is claiming that consumers will save some trips to the dry cleaners and spend less time ironing, especially since clothes can be "refreshed" in between washes.
The SteamWasher also works with LG's Remote Monitoring Laundry System, which allows you to track the progress of the laundry cycle from a remote place. This isn't a problem if you live in a one floor apartment like me, but if you live in a house with the laundry room in the basement, it might be useful and save you a few trips up and down the stairs.

There are all sorts of products on the market that supposedly eliminate the need for detergent. However, I have been researching alternative, eco-friendly laundry products for nearly 10 years, and never found even one that has scientific proof that it works.
