Bigger eyes with contact lenses
The obsession among East Asian women for large eyes has meant plenty of business for such diverse industries as plastic surgery, and lash curler and mascara manufacturers. Now contact lens makers get in on the act.
Acuvue's new lenses for the Asian market, the 1-Day Acuvue Define, claim to give wearers the look of bigger, brighter eyes. It works by means of a dark ring on the lens that gives definition to the iris.
FreshKon's Alluring Eyes also claim to give you bigger, brighter eyes. Again, it works by outlining the iris. Alluring Eyes comes in brown and black.
Lastly, there's Clearvue's BIG eyes 2, which comes in a variety of colours. The website doesn't explain how it works, but presumably it's by means of the same kind of optical illusion.

I've seen these in the back of Japanese gal magazines. They really do errily make the eyes look huge and doey... I want to get some myself and try them out :D

I bought a pair of the "mystical black" lenses from www.purelook.net and they're actually quite good. They do make the eyes look bigger and a bit shinier too.
As for comfort, i would say they're better than Acuvue 2 but not as good as O2 Optix. Will report back on the Acuvue Defines once i've received them.

Stella: I got mine from www.purelook.net. They're very nice and they shipped to me in 2 days (i know they ship to Canada too).
I didn't like the Acuvue Defines very much. The color is only in a thin ring along the outer edge of the lens, so if your eyes are brown then wearing the Acuvue Define makes it look like you have brown eyes plus a thin black ring around the outside. Not as natural looking as the Freshkon Alluring Eyes IMHO!

Purelook.net does ship to the U.S. Mine are enroute as of 3/20 and I was told I'd get them some time this week.

Hi Mika. I just came back from Japan and discovered the contacts with black ring....Does the freshkon really look more natural and better? Do you see any opaque jagged lines like other colored contacts?
