Laptop cosies

If your top-of-the-range laptop is your baby. you might want to treat it to a laptop cosy by Free People. They measure 12" by 10", and come lined with soft fleece. Doesn't sound like the best protection, but that's not the point, obviously. There are 3 designs: ribbon, snowflake, and embroidered roses. As a bonus for iPod owners, there's also a matching embroidered roses iPod holder.

ButterWizard update

Since I first wrote about the ButterWizard about a week ago, it's popped up everywhere and their website (which was not indexed by Google when I wrote the first post- see we're that ahead of the curve) has provided additional information. Its mechanical innards are pretty well hidden so it just looks like a hefty sized serving dish for people who might want their butter in inch-sized chunks, not those wimpy little pats. And because I think I've been accused several times of food snobbery, I'll say that I believe anything can be made edible, really delicious even, with a large chunk of butter on top, especially if you then dunk it in a vat of even more fat until it's crispy and unidentifiable. Oh, that's something I'd like to see- a ButterWizard that doesn't just keep the butter soft, but can actually perform on-the-fly deep-frying if there's something too raw and healthy on your plate. Anyway...the ButterWizard has a built-in rechargeable battery and can power up the dish for up to two hours when it's off the charging dock. It's only available in the U.K. right now, but given the media attention, will likely end up distributed across the whole butter-loving world soon.

Tape and floss dispensers

I don't really know anyone who would take the time to take a roll of dental floss out of the white plastic box to fill a dental floss dispenser, but it might be worthwhile if you have kids and want to make it more enticing and fun to floss (though the teeth look pretty sharp!). In any case, the Kai Dental Floss Holder is pretty darn cute. Cute enough to make you want to leave it out in view in your bathroom as a reminder to floss.

This tape dispenser guy looks pretty uncomfortable, doesn't he? Like he's struggling to keep that stomach crunch position forever. Ouch, looks torturous! Maybe putting this on your desk in plain view will inspire you to do your sit ups. Or not.
