The Board Home Design Planners
Ooh, can I get this for Christmas please! I'm a wannabe interior designer and am always moving furniture in my head in pursuit of better room arrangements. This is like Colorforms for adults who like to decorate. Accurately scaled magnetic furniture (and there are odd shapes to create custom pieces) allows you to arrange and rearrange custom templates of your rooms so you can try out various layouts. Unless you live in a McMansion, most anyone can use a little help planning their living spaces more efficiently, especially those of us cramped in small city apartments.

You can also measure your own furniture and put it into scale. Then cut out your own rooms and furniture out of carton. Its funnier more creative and cheaper.

$185 for the "Junior" set makes for a very expensive toy. Making something by hand seems like a much better entertainment value to me.

My family moved around a lot, so we used to do this with graph paper.
Measure the rooms, measure the furniture, cut out with scissors. Hold in place with loops of tape :-D
Probably closer to $1.85 than $185.

Yes, $185 is totally outrageous. I chose to conveniently overlook that fact while getting sucked into the miniature furniture...sigh.
