Pop-up hot dog cooker

hotdogcooker.jpg
I haven't bought the home Egg McMuffin maker, but I'm tempted now to turn my kitchen into a three pop-up meal a day outfit. The pop-up hot dog cooker has slots not just for toasting two hot dog buns, but for cooking the hot dogs as well. Each bun and wiener grill has individual settings so if you want your hot dog well-done on a lightly-toasted bun, but your friend likes her nitrates to be covered in carcinogens and wants her hot dog blackened, you can still cook them both in one go. The usual home method of cooking hot dogs involves boiling or microwaving, so the coil-grill probably makes them taste much better- and smell pretty good too, while they're cooking. I'd like a version for hamburger/veggie burgers.

The pop-up hot dog cooker is $49.95 at Hammacher Schlemmer (I always read and pronounce that as "Hammacher Schlemmecher").

HS usually markets some nice products, but this thing is a piece of crap. The hot dog cooker has been floating around for years, and has never been popular. having tried one myself, I can tell you there is a good resaon for this! Use your microwave for better results.

Thats **exactly** how I say that company's name, too. And here I thought I was the only one.....

I don't say it that way, I was just too lazy to spell it out ;)

A sausage that pops up to tell you when it's ready to be eaten? It'll never catch on.
