Muji waterproof speakers

waterproofspeaker1.jpg
I have more than enough real things to worry about so I really have to stop anthropomorphizing inanimate objects and thinking I need to protect them, but tell me this Muji waterproof speaker doesn't look desperately aquaphobic. "Please..not so close to the tub...I can't swim...does it really make sense to you that you can shower so close to something pulsing with electricity...remember the Rosenbergs?"

If you don't suffer from transference of neuroses, then you can use this rubber-sealed speaker to listen to anything with a headphone jack while you're near water. I don't think it's fully submergeable but definitely splashproof. Your music player isn't kept in the watertight casing, so you still need to watch out for that, lest it drown and die.

$65 from MoMAstore.

Jack:

They're cute alright, but opening up the box every time you need to switch on whatever you've got inside is kind of annoying (and I always forget to do that before I get in the shower, so am constantly mucking about with the radio I keep in mine with wet hands, which sort of deafeats the purpose!)
