The balloonlamp is a lithium battery operated lamp which illuminates the balloon for a soft diffused glow. The LED doesn't get hot, so the rubber is safe - just insert into balloon, blow and voila! A cool light! I love the hook that's built in so you can hang it anywhere and it's a great alternative to the more traditional Japanese paper lanterns for those who can't deal with all the wires, light sockets and plugs (like me).
