Maximilian's Pet Shop
With Maximilian's Pet Shop, designers Ella Kilgour (see her Declic shoes) and Katie Higgs intend to change the perception of what a pet shop can be, using trends in society and fashion to design.
"Maximilian's designs are not exclusive to pet owners." Products within the range are designed to add theatre to the nature of the relationship between owners and their pets. With the consumer in mind, Maximilian designs products that animals can use, but people desire. Here are a few examples:
The Jimmy Chews are dog chews fashioned from rawhide and allude to dogs and their infamous interaction with shoes. Each shoe has a different personality to appeal to individual consumers. The collection includes three masculine shoes - a biker boot, a brogue and a slipper, and four feminine shoes - a stiletto, a pointed toe fashion shoe, a ballet pump and a flip-flop.
Maximilian's Pet Shop also boasts 4 dog leads, 3 of which double up as fashion accessories in their own right. Maximilian's dog leads evolved as fashion accessories as these chunky belts and necklaces with articulating links can be worn around the waist and neck when your pooch is unleashed and running free. You do not have to own a pet to buy our products - a pet shop for the people!
Domestic birds often mimic the actions of their owners. Birds have a unique relationship with mirrors that is reverberated in the Vanity Perch. This melodramatic piece offers a place for birds commonly associated with preening to be involved in the act of dressing-up and beautification. The perch is used as a jewelry stand upon which birds may perch with you whilst you apply make-up.
Birdseed Jewellery is also a signature of embellishment. Birds perch on your finger and shoulders like giant brooches pecking at shiny articles and costume jewellery. Birdseed jewellery exaggerates the delight in the relationship between the consumer and their bird.
Just in case you were wondering: no, I don't know what's happening with the fonts of this post. Another Blogger nice surprise. Hey, Blogger I hate you sometimes!
