ionKids child monitoring system
ionKids has developed a child monitoring system that consists of two components, a bracelet, called the wristag, and a base unit. The cool looking wristag is worn by the child, the device is both water and tamper resistant and will need a special key to be taken off of the child's wrist. It also has sensors that can detect the child's skin and can perceive whether the gap between the skin and the device is getting larger, in which case it will set off an alarm, both on the wristag and on the base unit. The base unit, on the other hand, is kept by the parent, who can monitor up to four children simultaneously.
The Wristag transmits a signal to the base unit (up to 500 feet when outdoors and up to 350 feet when indoors) using a wireless point-to-point communication system. The communication between the two devices was developed with particular attention to possible "hacking" scenarios.
... every few seconds, ionTechnology simultaneously changes the transmission frequency, Wristag ID and corresponding information in the Base Unit, significantly reducing the chances that a third party can scan or monitor a child's Wristag. In addition, each communication between an individual Wristag and its Base Unit will be transmitted on a different frequency, making it possible for multiple Wristags to be used in the same close environment without
If the child moves out of the entered range limit the alarm will go off on both devices, the parent can switch into find mode and be guided by the base unit to the child's location.
And now to the fun part, the wristag comes with a couple of additional accessories that will help individualize the bracelet, such as decorative stickers and multicolor bezels.
Ionkids child monitoring system can be purchased for $199.95.
