Nintendo targets women with the DS

According to this article in The Register Friday March 11th is the date set for Nintendo's DS release in Europe. The handheld game console will be available for 100, or for 149, and will debut with 15 game titles, such as Pokemon Dash, Super Mario 64 DS, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, etc.

But the interesting news about the Nintendo DS is that the Japanese game/toy company intends to promote the product with a particular emphasis on women. Presumably it feels male gamers will favor the more macho, black-cased Sony PSP, which is expected to ship a week to two weeks later than the DS.
