TRiDY 3-D Faces

JFE Techno-Research Group has developed a 3-D curve measuring system that makes capturing complex facial expressions relatively simple. The TRiDY system consists of a projector that flashes narrow bands of black and white light onto the model's face and a camera which then captures the shapes based on the distortion from the lights. While the TRiDY-equipped PCs won't come cheap (about $30,000), the system could become popular with game companies, making for even more realistic gaming graphics.
