X-Ray Vision "Pervert Filter"
Vodafone, the world's largest cellular carrier, is upset that their high-end cam phone, the v602, is frequently being outfitted with a $180 "night vision" attachment that allows the camera to see through clothes with an infrared sensor that picks up body heat. The company that makes the device, Yamada Denshi, makes the optic sensor for military and defense-grade cameras, but the "pervert filter" has been selling briskly on the Internet to everyday peeping toms in Japan.
A spokesman for Vodafone said yesterday: ,AeuThis is a third-party device so our control is limited. Obviously we would never sell a phone that was enabling someone to see someone naked. That would be a contradiction of all our policies and we will do everything to stop such devices spreading.,Aeu
