Time: Visions of Tomorrow
Time Magazine's annual "What's Next" issue has just come out and is definitely worth a read. Some gadgety highlights:
The Philips Sonicare Intelliclean Toothbrush - I generally love anything related to oral hygiene, but I actually don't understand what's different about this new Sonicare. The big selling point appears to be that the brush holds a packet of Crest toothpaste that "liquefies in your mouth" so you don't have to go through the back-breaking work of squeezing the toothpaste onto the brush. And doesn't all toothpaste melt in your mouth? Maybe there's a yet-to-be-unveiled miracle function that will make this thing worth $100-200.
Antimicrobial countertops - Quartz countertops with a microbe-resistant coating that will make food preparation safer. Maybe critter expert Kim will weigh in.
