The "bye bye TV" gadget
TV-B-Gone is a new keychain gizmo that will let you zap any TV set. Even if it's not yours.
This kind of universal remote control runs through some 200 infrared codes that control the power of about 1,000 television models.
Mitch Altman of San Francisco, the inventor of TV-B-Gone, got the idea about ten years ago when he was out with friends at a restaurant and all were glued to the perched TV instead of talking to one another. No one was around to turn the TV off.
The gadget costs some $14.99 .
