The Gmail Drive

Bjarke Viksoe is the mind behind Gmail Drive. Gmail Drive allows you to mount an extra drive under Windows and link it to your Gmail account. This way you will be able to store files in your Gmail account and retrieve them directly from inside Windows Explorer.

When you create a new file using GMail Drive, it generates an e-mail and posts it to your account. The e-mail appears in your normal Inbox folder, and the file is attached as an e-mail attachment. GMail Drive periodically checks your mail account (using the GMail search function) to see if new files have arrived and to rebuild the directory structures. But basically GMail Drive acts as any other hard-drive installed on your computer.
Ever wanted to shoot yourself because you forgot your USB drive at an important client meeting? Well, apparently those days are over ,AeP well sort of ;-). Unfortunately it won,Aeot support file over 10 Megs, but I still think it,Aeos kind of neat. Now the question is, will Google ban this?

Baby-Comp and Lady-Comp Family Planners

The Lady-Comp and Baby-Comp are personal fertility calculators that monitor your cycle through body temperature. It's an ages old method, but the Lady Comp makes the interpretation simple by flashing red on days you're likely to conceive. There's also steady red (conception possible), yellow (don't know, use a condom) and green (have fun). A Lady Comp can be upgraded through software to a Baby Comp, probably just switching the flashing red light to a flashing green.
About $615 at Dita Health Shop.

Orb Networks: Access Media Files from Anywhere

Orb Networks is announcing a subscription service today that promises to let you access all your home media, including live television, from any device with an Internet connection. Orb claims that they will be able to stream any source available on your home network (including copy protected content like iTunes songs). The service will cost $9.99 a month or $79.99 for the entire year but that's for a single user only. Very interesting, but Orb is bound to face a hoard of legal battles getting this service up and running. Sling Media is another company that announced a similar service some months ago, but there's still no launch date.

Migo Personal for iPod

I'm not one of those people that wants to try to force extra functionality (read books! take crappy pictures! turn it into a calculator!) into a nicely simple iPod, but Migo Personal software for the iPod would be useful for anyone who uses multiple PCs and doesn't want to carry an additional device. Migo copies your Windows settings, Outlook contacts and mail, bookmarks, and any data files you need so you can work on any PC like it's your own. Of course you don't need Migo to use an iPod for storage but the software synchronizes the necessary files automatically so you can start working right away. After you're done, all traces of your work and your browsing are kept on the iPod so you don't leave behind any history. Migo Personal will be available in November for $99.95.
Migo's original product is a small USB device that does the same thing- copies all your files and settings, but it's expensive, $200 for just 256 mb. The Lexar Traveler Jump Drive does essentially the same thing, and the 512 mb model can be had for just $70 at eCOST.
