StereoGraphics Glasses-Free 3D Monitors
StereoGraphics' SynthaGram 404 can display 3D images without the need for special glasses. The 40" LCD monitor is intended for use in public spaces, to catch the attention of unsuspecting passersby. The monitor can also display DVD-quality 2D graphics, and seamlessly transition between 3D and 2D. It's available now for $15,345. There is also a smaller, 20.1" desktop version, the SynthaGram 204, which retails for $4764.
Fun facts about StereoGraphics:
- Their CrystalEyes 3D glasses are being used by NASA to maneuver Mars Rover Spirit through bumpy terrain.
- The CEO and founder, Lenny Lipton, was a co-writer of "Puff the Magic Dragon" and royalties from the song helped him start StereoGraphics.
