Intrinsa, "Female Viagra" Possibly Close to Market

Intrinsa, aka "female Viagra" the first prescription drug for low libido in women is a step closer to entering the market. The FDA has decided to accelerate their review of the testosterone laced skin patch for women and if all goes well, Intrinsa could be available by the spring. The first group of women likely to be prescribed Intrinsa are those who have gone through menopause after surgical removal of their ovaries and are experiencing low libido (estimated to be about a third of those who've had the surgery.) In Phase 3 of the clinical trials, 51% of women experienced "more satisfying" sexual experiences while using Intrinsa.
Also being tested: LibiGel, the testosterone gel with the incredibly unsexy name.
