Future Shopping by Philips
Philips would like to know what you think about some of their developing concepts for the future of shopping.
Personal Interaction Device:
A little device that will store your shopping lists and provide personalized discounts and other targeted information. You decide which parts of your profile you want to share and what to keep private.
Wayfinding:
Light and sound based directional indicators that will let you find exactly what you're looking for, right down to the exact location on the shelf.
Decisions at Shelf:
"Smart", interactive displays that will let you find out more about the product on the spot.
Interactive Surfaces:
These glass displays won't just protect the products from theft, they will be providing information about the products inside.
Virtual Sales Associate:
This one is the best, I think: remote sales staff that you can link to in real-time, using both audio and video. I think every store in the world could use this.
Checkout Opportunity:
Quick checkouts that will still allow you a few moments to re-consider what you've put in your cart, plus, I'm sure the ability for the store to suggest more things you might want.
